Brief C.V.

 

George Diederick Düring was born on 8th January, 1917, in Roodepoort, educated at King Edward VII School in Johannesburg, matriculated in 1933. After a short trip to Europe, he studied at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, obtaining in 1940 his BA LLB, then joined his father’s law office for two years; he married Theresa Weber in 1943; from 1944 studied art under Maurice van Essche at the Witwatersrand Technical College, moved to The Strand in the Cape for 2 years, returning to Florida near Johannesburg in 1948.

Diederick Düring died on 6th August, 1991.
